Not what you want to see....
« on: 04.11. 2013 18:36 »
When clutch lever came back to the bar and the cable was fine I new I had problems. Removing primary case clutch was loose on shaft and nut undone. In the primary case were the two pieces of metal attached.

Can anyone identify what it was?

The bike is a '57 Plunger A10 Golden Flash

G'day Rich.
They (abutment ring #74) go behind the clutch thrust washer #25 on drawing.
I'd say the nut has come loose, the clutch moved outwards and these fell out.
Cheers

Hiya Rich, what Musky said, and to reinstall in the groove at the back end of the splines, put a bit of grease in the groove to hold them in place and the thrust washer goes straight over.
Took me a while to figure that one, and I find having the split vertical is easier.
I guess you'll be doing the nut up fairly tight.......!!
 Cheers 'n good luck
