Another GA10 Frame Number

I have now had a chance following the nice weather this weekend to have a proper look at the pile of bits unearthed from the shed and having consulted various books and the wealth of information available on this forum but have to confess that I am even more confused.
Taking some solace in the fact that I am not alone (see http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=6029.0 ) My question is:
What is it?...
Frame Number: GA10 3922
Engine Number: CA10 3242
It is clearly not an RGS frame as it has tyre pump brackets, welded front engine mounts (all four of them not just the bottom two) and has only a partial wrap around headstock plating, (although other bits of the frame do look vaguely RGS-like).
I will put some pictures up so all the learned iluminati can give this poor ignoramous some illumination, or just take the p***...

Well now, the engine appears to be an A10 from 1954 but as you say the frame isn't an RGS. The GA 10 number is in the range of the last year for RGSs, 1963, but it clearly isn't.  Maybe someone re-stamped the frame to try to make it seem like an RGS, numberwise anyway. 
Where did you find the frame number marked? Around the same date as the engine it would be on the steering head facing forwards (me thinks).
(Just noticed your last photo, that's not where I would have expected to see the number stamped, well at least not on my frame)

Should it be on the headstock wrap-around plate here? If not where would you expect to find it?
Looks like someone was scratching around here for it once...

It's a CA7 frame. 1954 - early 1955.
Pretty sure that GA10 frame numbers didn't reach that high.

Correct - according to my info the last RGS was frame number GA10-1914 so why would anyone stamp it with such an obviously wrong number?

Maybe I'm halucinating, but it looks to me hat under the scratching could be the number CA73922. Granted, I wouldn't say for certain that any of those characters were there, but there are some hints.

After much agonising sense has prevailed and I have realised that I've got too many projects to do this justice, so I've decided to list the parts on fleabay so that they may benefit someone else's project. Don't despair any money received will not be wasted on such fripperies as redecorating the new house etc., but will be squandered on much needed parts for my 1923 Raleigh!
