Nice, but not critical to be on a BSA.
Plan on signing up for the world-wide 2020 DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN'S RIDEon September 27, 2020. This year it's a solo or pillion ride in dapper attire. Watch website at https://www.gentlemansride.com for details.

I know, I know, you're too old, too cool, too aloof or too tough to take part in such frivality.

All systems go down here. The Cafe is ready but being limited to 60KPH I'll be doing the whole ride in 1st & 2nd gear and trying to keep the front wheel on the ground  *sarcastic*.
My Club (Shoalhaven Classic MC) is lucky in that there is two rides in the shire. North in Nowra and South in Ulladulla. I'll be doing the South ride with 52 other riders. Per capita our ride has raised the most $$$, I think next is Darwin.
Hoping for good weather on the day.
Cheers

It's always what England would call summer here  ;) was only 6C this morning in the shed, should get to 20C today. Taking the 51 on a 150 mile shakedown ride today in prep for a 600 mile ride in a few weeks. Then the National a week later.
Cheers

Gents,

This year it's "Ride Solo, Together" for the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride. I've again created a "BSA A7-A10 Forum" team to represent any forum member who chooses to participate under our flag. Donations made to individuals on the team show up on the individual's personal profile and on the team page.  There are a LOT of new members since we last touched the topic, many of whom probably don't know about DGR and, perhaps, have not seen our logo, which can be seen on the team page.

The team ride says it's taking place in Naperville. In previous years I'd asked Mikey in DGR admin to change it to "Worldwide Ride." Considering the circumstances, not going to trouble him this year.  Here is the link: https://www.gentlemansride.com/fundraiser/bsaa7-a10forum

I hope many of you will sign-up, ride and donate this year because, let's face it, you probably have a prostate.

Good stuff. I'm elsewhere on the actual date, but given the lonesome nature of this year's event will pick another day to head out and ride Cambridge. I've used the Guzzi Eldo Loop - 'Jug', 'Brown' the Kawa H1 and the Nimbus 'Swiftmobile' over the last few years so it could be time to break out the A10 (the bike I've owned the longest has no name).

Even though we are supposed to "Ride Solo Together" this year, I've decided to share my route in case anyone chooses to ride along. I'm sure you can all make it.  I'll be setting off at 10:30 AM (CDT) with the intent of riding around inside Morton Arboretum (Lisle, IL) then a ride in Green Valley Forest preserve and home. (The map doesn't exactly point at my house, think, "Between the Dots.")

If you haven't signed up for DGR (and 99.5% of you have not, kinda pitiful), it's not too late.

If i get on a boat i should just about make it! Myself and a mate are gonna turn up at last years meeting point hoping a few others will be doing similar. It's obvious that the organisers had to cancel it officially. Will be easy to distance and avoid contact in large car park. Will be nice if some classics turn up to give us something to drool over. If not, no worries we will enjoy the ride out anyway, raising a bit for an important charity.
