How do I adjust my TLS brake?

I am now ready to assemble the TLS on my A10. The machining and welding is done so lets hope it all lines up!

For now though I need to know how to adjust the brake arms to be sure its operating as a TLS and get optimal performance.
Intuitively I am assuming that with the rod that links both brake arms disconnected I operate both brake arms fully manually and then and with my third and fourth hands adjust the linking rod.

Does anyone know of a better approach or the BSA recommended method?

 I think that's what I did when I had one o' them

Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

That method worked for me and when the shoes bedded in it turned out better than I anticipated.    *smile*

Well that was fun!
Reversed the bike out of the garage onto steep drive and no front brake!
Just managed to slow it on the rear while juggling to get us headed down hill. Very poor braking gong forward also!!
After about a mile with plenty of brake applications it improved and is now just about as good as the brake it replaced.
Hopefully it will get better with further bedding in, especially as I have not fitted new shoes by due to shotblasting of the drum could ot find witness marks to be sure I'd put them back in the same way rond they came out *red*
