61 A10R first mock up
« on: 25.09. 2020 16:57 »
Building a bike from mismatched parts stats like this, the mock up. The engine case are welded spares ,the rear wheel a 60's Triumph that will be used. The good is the engine ,trans and frame fit ok. I have new sprockets coming so the rear wheel and sprocket can be ined up
Not sure about the fork assembly, but I have used  mid 1990's Japanese sport bike Showa assembles for Triumphs. With some modifications, spoke British wheels, they look the part and perform very nicely.

Suspension might feel a bit wooden at the back, but I'm sure you know what you're doing!  *smile*

Good luck with it Truckedup!

It'll be interesting as to what forks you use, and what modifications you do.

If any use I'd happily donate a 61 type rear hub if you paid for the freight. I'm trying to clear out my late SR stuff now I've gone to the earlier qd wheel RR models.
PM me if of any interest. freight may be prohibitive but parts would be free

Looking good though. That looks like a conical rear wheel? which is technically BSA group (triumph being a subsidiary) and used on BSA's. presumably you're not running cross over brakes then?

I'm back...thanks for the wheel offer Rocker Racer, but the Triumph wheel will be ok. Its a 60's single side brake wheel
I have 2000 HondaCBR front end mocked up in the first photo.....the second photo shows the fit after making adapters for the Honda bearings.  I also  shortened the steering stem....The A10  frame was not modified to do this.

Nice to see you've got a twin port head. Gives you some nice carb choice options even if largely cosmetic over the later heads.
Those forks look quite at home there.

I really like that Honda front end, and keen to see your progress, nice.
Unfortunately I don’t see the twin carb head that RR sees.

just noticed its on crooked so is a single port head with the inlet casting partially obscured, my bad.
