Magneto extended nut, slightly less hassle!
« on: 05.06. 2025 20:22 »
I've got used to fitting the extended nut on magnetos but, like many, I cursed the thing before I acquired a bit more experience. If you need to change your magneto or if you're building an engine, it's worth turning a point on the end of the stud to which the extended nut fits. It could be done with a file (not in situ!) if you're careful. This makes fitting the extended nut much easier as the parts find each other much more easily.

Andrew, Good idea. Getting the washer on was also impossible, but now I stick it onto the long bolt with heavy grease - simples!!
