happy ending: the black stand above had the right part number. it straightened easily with gas and I also rotated upwards the kick lever by quite a bit for more cornering clearance, i welded some bar down the inside of the legs so should be super strong. and cut the extra feet off.
i'm a rough stick welder but even good old 6013 rods were fine with the cast steel (and some grinding back
). don't look carefuly at the pic below.
now on the centre stand the rear tyre sits 1 1/2" above ground and the bike is a LOT easier to get on the stand. I've yet to give it a hard ride but expect the cornering clearance to be much better.
