Not any Gold Star I know about unless it's one of the very early first models. They typically have the same switch/ammeter unit mounted in the headlight shell and a curved/loop support for the bottom link running from one side to the other.
I checked out the M20 situation and the photo I found of a restoration project shows a normal switch/ammeter unit in the shell, but it did have two tubular links but for girder forks.
