Cheers for kicking this off Greybeard. I like the cutaway engine graphic. I would just have BSA A10/7 Forum as text. Or how about:

Like discussing your bits on the internet ?
Then join the BSA A10/A7 Forum

Mind you I've been on the lookout for a T with   "BSA,  making mechanics of ordinary blokes for over 100 years". I like a bit of slf depricating humour.
Never tell people your troubles. Half of them are not interested and the other half are glad you're getting what's coming to you.

Well, back when we were last playing with this I created this circle design that needs something in the middle. I was just playing with editor programs and was having a bit of trouble clipping in things, like maybe one of the cutaways.

Anyway, If this becomes a reality, I really hope we don't go with a big solid latex rubber image on the chest. They don't breath and are uncomfortable to wear. (I do have a few such shirts in my drawer that I will not wear.)

I agree Richard, I'm not a fan of plastic/laytex type at all. We need something simple but bold that can be done by screen print for shirts and woven for patches.
I very much like the 2nd one Greybeard. I think the detail would be hard to produce in a screen print but would be OK for a woven patch.
I think the most distinguishable part of our bikes is the timing cover. That inside Richards design might work for both.

Can we have a polished timing cover please?

Ha, of course. That was just a quicky off the net. I have a tacho type polished in the shed but the wife's got the camera 250 miles away.

Well, I'm not trying to make this any kind of debate, of course, but, in a t-shirt, the timing cover will be solid latex. Also, by itself, it could end up looking like a bra on those of us without rock-hard pecs. How about a whole engine drawn similar to Graybeard's image, but not cutaway. If the engine, circles and lettering are all independent from each other over the background, there might be enough open area to be comfortable.

This effort could be called "Goingt Nitty."  (Thanks to member Nitty, wherever he is, for making some very nice BSA patches some years ago.)

By the way, I do think GB's engine in the circle looks really good. It's just getting down to some tweaks, it seems.

Hmmmmm....food for (naughty) thought. Maybe we should be considering shorts instead of a tee shirt. With this logo on the front.....a "stand-out" jock strap?

As Benny would say " Oh Richard (orabanda) you are naughty, but I liiike it"
I too like Greybeard's engine cutaway design very much. I just thought the detail would be lost with a screen print. It would work with a vinyl photo print tee and a woven patch.
Should we do a poll? Tee shirt or patch or both. Vinyl or screen print. Same design for tee shirt and patch.
Cheers

Hello, all this is really nice  *smile*

Won't have any preferences within any of the R&D, but offering a £100 or equivalent in other currency (from donations + personal) to help getting the chosen design into production.

Thanks

In the UK it was Dick Emery that said something like that.

Poll is a good idea but should we encourage other forum members to submit their own design first? Is there a way of getting this topic read by every member?

Additionally, I quite like text across the shoulders at the back, extending onto the sleeves. A bit like in the attached if it works ...
(And with apologies - I'm clearly no graphic artist).

I've gone ahead and ordered a tee-shirt with Richards circle around the cut-away engine on back and front. I'll let you know how it looks.
