not sure he owns the Triumph name, is not the "Triumph" badge on new Triumphs slightly different in design to the original ?.
Also I wonder if BSA Regal own the BSA name ?

If anyone, BSA Regal would be my guess. the even use the winged "B" in their logo. If they do own it, I doubt if they are interested in suing anyone contributing to keeping the name alive.

Regarding the t-shirt, I haven't heard back, so they may have relented regarding adding the trademark symbols.

I'd also suggest BSA regal have the right to the winged motif  *dunno* as even BSA guns http://bsaguns.co.uk/ who are manufacturing air rifles at the remnants of the Small Heath works use the piled arms with a plain BSA font.
the Umerican boy scouts will only have been able to copy write particular fonts, as the term BSA is used extremely widely. over here google bsa and you get the broadcasting standards association.
Press on! I got a great T shirt with the BSA logo from the Californian BSAOC and if anyone is conscious of being sued it would be a formal club in the land of the sued, rather than an infomal international forum group that resides somewhere else...

Well, well. Custom Ink relented on the Boy Scouts traemark issue and sent my shirt without the registered trademark symbols. Overall, I'm quite happy with the design, though the image might be a bit too large and gold would be better than white. My son said the internet address should be on the back, but I'm sure that costs more. Finally, maybe I'm not as fat as I think (wishful thinking) because XXL is way too big. As you can see by the photo, I'm still in the witness protection program.

G'day Richard.
I very much like that. Gold would be my preference. What type of printing is it?

Muskrat,

The ink is a plasticized product (I guess) that is sprayed on similar to ink-jet printing. There is a big area where they apply a clear water-based coating that helps the ink stick. I thought that felt odd, just slightly rubbery. I called and asked about it and they said that should come out after the first wash.  It turns out that the reason I thought the image was too big was because they upsized it for the XXL shirt. Since they had not asked me if I wanted the image upsized, they offered to send me a new shirt, which will be XL. They would not go so far as to provide the free shirt in gold. I respect that. Now I'll have one shirt and a mumu (it's not quite that bad).

I guess the question is, how and when do we consider more than one-off purchases (whether this or the version by GB with the engine, I'm not making that decision on my own)  and order in quantity. Then, back to the three-continent question.

G'day Richard.
I usually wash a new shirt before wearing so it will be good to hear your thoughts after the first wash. As i posted, I like the "sublimation" method for long life, screen prints don't last all that long (many washes). Could you ask them how many washes that printing would last and if they do sublimation? Also cost for 100 (25 M, 25 L, 25 XL, 25 XXL).
As for the three continant  *????*. i would imagine the price would be better there (USA) and the postage would be about the same to UK and Aus. Or have a supplier on each continent (smaller run #'s = higher cost).
As we have two viable designs we should put it to a poll. Timing Case, Engine sketch, other. I feel the Engine Sketch would make a good 3" patch for our jackets.
Cheers

There isn't a lot of chatter about this topic from other forum members. I guess a poll will give an idea of how many might be interested. A poll should ask about patches as well.
Might it be best to wait a while to see what our graphic design bod comes up with.

Personaly I feel that a new strong logo for the web page would the best thing to carry over onto these items. I don't think that E want's to change his forum page appearance though.

Right. I forgot that Jools had volunteered. I had ordered my shirt before that.

Well as a new member  I must say that a global design that makes us stand out is a great idea, be it tee shirt or patch ...

My vote is on the timing case ...its so much sums up the A10 engine

Oh I just need time... (a lifetime of deadlines, a deadtime of lifelines). Yes It's got to be the timing cover, I'll try to get onto it soon. Sorry!
(Time is an ocean, -it moves too fast, ah but what a shame that all we've shared can't last...)
