too bad they didnt copy the A10 motor and update the engineering  internals .....thats one ugly gas tank with the flanged seam ....hopefully they have a good dealer network and service / parts supply lots of competition in that price range .

Can't agree - the singles were far better engineered than the A series. Timing side ballrace and quill feed, no sludge trap, no daft rocker assembly, no 'rocking couple' vibration ..........

It's a Rotax engine apparently. Rotax know what they are doing.

Is your xt500 std ? as there are specs on the net which says it has around 30hp, so around the same as a B44 🤭

I expect some “hot” versions of the new 650 BSA will get released not long after the first 45hp version. The ktm690 range (singles) has a bit of rotax DNA in the engine, and that gives around 75hp.

What, and UK isn’t?
I haven’t had a proper pay rise in donkeys years.

G'day Fellas.
So what happened to the twin cylinder that was rumored?
Pay rise, what's that? 2000 I got $850 a week, now I get $838 a week. Petrol then was $0.90 per liter now it's $2.30 *ex*

Did any one actually believe they were going to be "Made in England".
Now if they had said it was going to be assembled in the old Triumph factory ( that apparently is no longer operating ) then I may have believed them
But setting up a new EPA compliant factory in the UK to make a bike that will have a production life of 10 years at the most , not CEO would santion that .
Setting up a new factory in India where EPA regulation are substantially lower, wages substantially lower & safe working standards are substantially lower, that makes reasonabley good sense
